It all began with a concept. A joke that received some smiles and received laughter. As the idea was discussed with others, it became a mission. A personal quest to ensure that the victims in the Micael Vick situation were remembered and not forgotten. The dogs! The idea became an awareness, self indulgent, and necessity.

The story begins with a a personal struggle.

Do I capitalize on a tragic situation? Do I ignore a senseless act? To turn away from what would be the equivalent of a media “catch and release”. Do I allow this to be a two day story that is dropped as quickly as it is announced? What would become of the true victims, the animals abused? Could I impact this at all through my efforts? Do I want to impact this story?

Another bigger question was…

Am I the only person thinking of the bigger picture? Why was this opportunity not evolving into a firestorm across the Internet? Certainly others were thinking along the same lines as me. I am not that creative, or so I thought!

This is not intended to be just a story of this awareness chew toy, but a story that is intended to educate. Through our experience, we have gained an incredible amount of knowledge and we want to share it with everyone. Experiences ranging from product concept, mold, international manufacturing and shipping, marketing, and sales fulfillment. We often speak of the learnings and information gained through this endeavour as being greater than any higher learning experience that could be gained. We realize that we are not the only authority and certainly not “collegiate accredited”, but can certainly offer real life examples and experiences that will enhance the knowledge and assist others with similar dreams.
