Official Vick Dog Chew Toy

CRUNCH!

Team,

I apologize for the layoff!  I hope you all had as good of a Thanksgiving weekend as I did.  Amazing couple of weeks in the NFL!  The Eagles and the hated Mike Vick ran over the Mighty Giants.  However, karma struck again and Vick’s luck ran out against the mighty Chicago Bears!  Hopefully, Vick on the ground surrounded by Bears is a sign of things to come!

There has been a TON of talk about Vick as an MVP candidate.  Remember my promise; we will unleash a barrage of press against that possibility if it happens to be the case.  The Official Vick Dog Chew Toy will play a major part in the outcry associated with any talk or action that further rewards Mike Vick!

We have two weeks of giveaways to reward to 2 GREAT Organizations.  First, in week 11 Carolina Care Bullys took the majority of votes, edging out such powerhouses like Bama Bully Rescue and Bully Breed Rescue to take the first place votes!  Congratulations to Carolina Care Bullys for their win!  Here is a little info about their great Organization:

Carolina Care Bullies is 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization, comprised of multiple foster homes that exist throughout the state of North Carolina. CCB strives to decrease the pit bull euthanasia rate in North Carolina shelters by broadening the understanding of bully breeds; offering support to owners of bully breeds; caring for deserving pit bulls in the loving homes of generous foster families; and placing pit bulls in responsible permanent homes.

In recognition for Carolina Care Bullies efforts they will receive TWO FREE Official Vick Dog Chew Toys!

Second, week 12 brought the Eagles and Vick to Chicago to take on the Mighty Bears.  The Bears defense stood strong and defeated the hated Vick!  The winner of week 12 Bark For Awareness is a new one.  Please join me in welcoming J and J’s Homeless Pet Rescue to our list of Bark For Awareness Winners!  Here is a little info on J and J’s:

J and J’s Homeless Pet Rescue is a non-profit organization and has its 501(c)3 tax exempt status. We depend solely on public donations and adoption fees for financial survival. No contribution is too small, and your donations are tax-deductible! We have no paid employees. Contributions, fund raising and our own personal out-of-pocket money is how we take care of all the animals. We are the only non-profit rescue in Beaufort County that currently houses animals for adoption. All the animals in our care receive everything they need as far as medical care, food, shelter, flea and tick prevention and heartworm prevention. In the past two years, J and J has partnered with reputable rescues in New Virginia, Maryland, New York, New Hampshire and Connecticut to save the lives of almost 200 animals from local NC shelters.

For their efforts, J and J’s Homeless Pet Rescue will receive FOUR FREE Official Vick Dog Chew Toys!

Please join me in congratulating both Organizations.  Please also continue to support the great organizations that participate in The Official Vick Dog Chew Toy Bark For Awareness Campaign.  The votes you cast help so many worthy causes and pet lives!

Sincerely,

Mike Vick and MVP Talk

Saturday, November 20th, 2010

I want to thank everyone for the great response over the last few months.  Word is getting out and support is greater than ever!  YOU are speaking out against animal abuse, YOU are voicing your opposition against Mike Vick and the Eagles, YOU are working to make a difference!  I thank you all!

There is MUCH talk about Mike Vick and the MVP appointment that might be coming.  With all that talk I must prepare to help raise opposition that such a person below any moral character would hold such a prestigious place in the annals of NFL history.

If Michael Vick is even spoken of as an MVP potential candidate, I will raise opposition that will raise so much attention that the NFL, Humane Society and Mike Vick’s camp will have to notice.

Please stay tuned and know that your friend and advocate at The Official Vick Dog Chew Toy is engaged and ready to unload should the need arise!

Thanks again for your support and action!

Sincerely,

Darren Usher

The Great vs. the ingrate

Saturday, November 13th, 2010

On Monday night we will witness McNabb vs. Vick.  I am calling this match up the Great (McNabb) vs. the ingrate (Vick).  Most of you know that I am a Redskins fan, but that is not why I call McNabb the Great.  Donovan has certainly solidified his status as a great NFL player long before he became a Redskin.  On the flip side, Vick has solidified his status as an ingrate before becoming an Eagle.  So, we have two “men” going against each other on the field, but two completely different characters that are being represented.

I mentioned on the radio this week that I did not fault Vick for returning to the NFL.  Vick did the time and sentence given to him.  All any criminal can do is the time he or she is given.  What I do fault is the lack of character and sense of accountability for the NFL, the Humane Society and any other organization that has suddenly allowed Vick to return to public status as a “forgiven man”.

Vick has harmed without suitable consequence.  Vick has been allowed to return to life without accountability for actions.  Vick has been allowed to resume life without any assumption of past activities or damages.  I am not sure what or who he has paid to be allowed forgiveness, (Humane Society and NFL), but I do know that this same level of forgiveness would not have been afforded to most of us.  These facts are the most troubling to me.

I cannot bring myself to look at Vick without thinking about the incredible amount of damage he has done.  What makes it worse for me is the lack of remorse I hear in his voice or see in his eyes.  Vick is a football player now, but certainly a THUG as well and a man that has no worry or remorse for any damage he has left behind.   Vick is a person that lives for the day and cares not about what past days have produced.  I can only hope that his legacy is marred with an asterisk that tells of the time he was out of football.  For that time is the only remorse that this man will ever feel.

Go Skins.  Go for the ribs!
