Vick Chew Toy BFA3 Winner!

August 19th, 2011

Ok. So it’s a pre-season game for 2011, but the statistics are already rolling for Michael Vick and the Philadelphia Eagles. Mike Vick’s 3 interceptions last night was the first time since 2008, that a starting quarterback did that in a pre-season game. Trouble in Philadelphia? I think so and here is the reason why. Last year Michael Vick was cruising through the 2010 season. He was comfortable, he was coming back into the NFL with a little bit of seasoning, and he was very focused on winning football games. Now look at the off-season attention he received. Awards, recognition, publicity stunts for his image, successful NFL season, and the ultimate prize, ENDORSEMENTS! And these aren’t small players in the marketplace. You have NIKE and likes of other organizations coming around, you know there is some money flowing into the pockets of Michael Vick. What I didn’t see from Vick was a donation of any kind to animals? Interesting. The ego maniac had a tremendous opportunity to put forth some good faith media buzz and failed to do so.

What does that mean? Well, it’s simple. When you get into your groove and feel confident, you get complacent. What we witnessed last night was pressure. Pressure from the front line of the Steelers, pressure from the media, pressure on himself to succeed, pressure to perform at a high level. He can’t do it. Michael Vick is a follower and not a leader on or off the field. He will win games this year, but we will not see that masterful ‘style’ season from him like we did last year. So I ask again, trouble in Philadelphia? You bet!

Congratulations to Luzerne County Pit Bull Owners for taking 20% of the vote during last nights Philadelphia Eagles vs Pittsburgh Steelers game. A great pre-season win and just getting warmed up for the 2011 NFL Football season. Three FREE Official Vick Dog Chew Toys are on the way to you right now! Bark For Awareness Give Away 2011

NFL Lockout got you down? Thinking whether or not they will play this year? Today’s news was encouraging and with the NFL Lockout coming to a close, we could be seeing a signature as soon as Monday. We are wondering if our dog loving fans would like us to continue our tradition for the upcoming season. Bark For Awareness Give Away has donated hundreds of Official Vick Dog Chew Toys to pet rescues, pet humane societies, and pet organizations throughout the United States for two consecutive NFL seasons. Our mission is to bark as loud as we can towards animal abuse and is our way of giving back to those that help pets everyday.

Here’s how it works. Organizations register with us weekly to be eligible to win. Once they are registered, we then list the organizations into a voting process. The Philadelphia Eagles are our target for the entire 2011-12 NFL Football season and we want the OPPONENTS to win every single time. The number of Official Vick Chew Toys that are donated is based on the number of touchdowns scored AGAINST the Philadelphia Eagles. Maybe we should switch it up this year to give away a chew toy for every Michael Vick sack!!! Once the game has ended, we look to our fan base, over 25,000 strong and ask you to vote for the organization you think should receive the proceeds. Simple in concept and keeps the momentum going for having fun, raising awareness, and giving back to the people dedicated to pets.

The question that we have for this year’s season is, Do we give away the Official Vick Dog Chew Toy for every touchdown or for every Michael Vick Sack? The response over the last two years has been great, but our goal is to have this year’s event bigger than the previous two. We will leave it up to you, the dog loving fans. We have set up a poll for you on our facebook page. We hope to see you there, hope to see some registrations, and hope the NFL Owners and Players come to an agreement Monday!

Thank you for the continued support.

Michael Vick is visiting Congress?

Michael Vick is visiting Congress?

WASHINGTON (AP) — Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick brought his anti-dogfighting message to Congress on Tuesday, backing legislation that would penalize those who knowingly attend animal fights and allow minors to attend.

Vick, who served 18 months in prison on dogfighting charges, said he wants to teach kids not to repeat his mistakes and to take profits away from sponsors of these events.

The football star has been speaking at churches and schools along with Wayne Pacelle, president and chief executive officer of the Humane Society of the United States. Pacelle told the news conference, “I had a lot of soul searching to do” before deciding to partner with Vick in efforts to stop animal fighting events.

“Help us to reach out to these kids before they go down the wrong path,” Vick said.

The Hampton, Va. native said that while he became involved in dogfighting in his youth, he was unaware that more children are now attending these gruesome events. He said his own experience taught him that attending animal fights has an impact on children.

“It’s up to the parents to take responsibility and make sure it doesn’t happen,” he said.

Sponsors of the legislation said the laws against animal fighting need to be strengthened.
It is illegal in 49 states to be a knowing spectator at an animal fight, while 28 impose felony-level penalties on those attending.

The bill would impose penalties of up to a year in prison and fines for attending an animal fight, and a penalty of up to three years in prison and fines for bringing or allowing a minor to attend.

The main sponsors of the legislation are Reps. Betty Sutton, D-Ohio, and Tom Marino, R-Pa., with Rep. Jim Moran, D-Va., co-chairman of the Congressional Animal Protection Caucus, among its co-sponsors.
