So.. Everyone is wondering what it was like to see Michael Vick play an NFL game?  It was an interesting journey.  I was expecting to see mobs of people protesting and shouting, but as I walked through the tailgating section, I saw displays of “Vick on a stick”, people grilling Vick along with their favorite food, and the subtle anti-Vick sentiment.  What I admired most is that there was nothing racial or profane, just a general dislike and disgust for both his actions and of the man that committed the acts.  

There was also a huge outcry against the Eagles for welcoming Vick to their team.  Amazingly, I saw ZERO Vick Eagles jerseys.  Not that there were not any, as I am sure there had to be, but I did not see one.  Perhaps the Eagles fans are not yet committed to Vick that they are ready to sport a jersey with his name on it. Embarrassed? 

Eagles fans are a proud group.  They do love their team and they certainly showed up for the game.  I did not see any Eagles fan lashing out against the anti Vick displays and the many anti Vick signs posted throughout the various areas.  Simply harmless bantering like you witness at any game.  To that I applaud both Jag and Eagles fans.  No one, be it Jags fans or Eagles fans, wanted any of Vicks actions to happen.  Very few people, anywhere, applaud or support his actions.  Sure, I receive the occasional email, blog post or Facebook comment suggesting that Vick is the victim, but those are far and few between. 

We may not like it, but Michael Vick is in the NFL. Our goal is to keep awareness on the issue that animal abuse needs to be abolished.
